IDRV appointed as Lead Project VIENNA 2030

We are pleased to announce that the IDRV has been named a Lead Project for WIEN 2030. This designation confirms the central role the IDRV plays in promoting and further developing sustainable design practices—not only in Vienna and Austria, but also on an international level.

Within the framework of WIEN2030, the Vienna Economic Council serves as a key advisory body, guiding the city’s economic strategies and ensuring that sustainability and innovation are at the forefront. The IDRV’s recognition as a Lead Project under the auspices of the Council highlights the forward-looking design research.

Drawing on its strong roots in the city of Vienna, the IDRV benefits from a vibrant design and research community. At the same time, the institute is connected to a global network of experts, partner organizations, and universities. Thanks to this international collaboration, the IDRV can adopt innovative approaches from different regions, refine them, and implement them in our local context, among others.

By serving as a hub between research, practice, and the public, the IDRV pursues interdisciplinary cooperation and open knowledge exchange in order to position design as a holistic driver of societal change. Workshops, publications, and events help to promote future-oriented design solutions and bring them into the broader discourse. We invite everyone interested to actively participate in our projects and events and to join us in developing new perspectives for a sustainable future.
