(3.3) IMAGINE: Coral Reef. Regenerative Design in India

After a two-year tour across Europe, the exhibition IMAGINE: Coral Reef. Regenerative Design continues its journey in India. Building on its previous stations, the project positions itself as an in-depth exploration of regenerative design as a holistic approach—a design practice that moves beyond sustainability and integrates ecological regenerative capacity, cultural and social transformation, and alternative economic logics into a coherent framework of design practice, thereby gaining increasing global relevance.

The exhibition is curated by the Institute of Design Research Vienna (IDRV), with exhibition architecture and overall organization by EOOS. Together, IDRV and EOOS have developed Coral Reef as a modular and adaptive exhibition format that responds to local contexts while remaining anchored in a clearly defined conceptual core. Central to this framework are articulated regenerative design principles that shape both the content structure and the spatial design of the exhibition.

Coral Reef. Regenerative Design is part of the Imagine Dignity – Arts & Ideas initiative, launched to mark the 50th anniversary of Austria’s international cultural engagement.
